UPPER PROVIDENCE - Friends and family witnessed the public promotion of township police Sgt. U. Mark Freeman to the rank of police lieutenant. Freeman is now second-in-command reporting to Police Chief Mark Toomey.
On June 16, as Freeman's wife Carolyn held a family Bible, supervisors' Chairwoman Lisa Mossie conducted the oath of office during the swearing-in ceremony in the Township Hall.
